Canon Pixma MX420 Printer 5100 Error and Loading Ink

I hate new hardware because I'm always running into problems setting it up (not terribly tech savvy when it comes to hardware). When I ran into a 5100 error as soon as I turned on my new Canon Pixma MX420 printer I decided that, rather then tear my hair out, I'd try to use my frustration to help someone avoid theirs, and get to play with my new Panasonic HDC-SD90 video camera at the same time.
