Lead casting with silicone caulk mold

Saw something on the web a while back about thinning Silicone Caulk with Paint Thinner, for mold making. This was for cold resin casting, so wasn't sure how this was going to work for very hot metal. There is silicone rubber products for this, but kind of expensive, and was always afraid of an expensive mistake, an such a waste. I had boughtday, due to rain, which is good, because eighteen is more than I really need.
