May 22, 2017 (Persian calendar 1396/3/1) Major General Mohammad Boroujerdi محمد بروجردی‎‎, M (1955 - May 1983) was an Iranian soldier: one of the founders of Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution (AGIR or Revolutionary Guard); and a commander in Iran-Iraq War. He played key roles in regaining control over the territories of Kurdistan by Iranian forces. As one of the commanders, he averted the fall of "Sar Pol-e Zahab سرپل ذهاب", engineered by Saddam's army in October 1980
