As reported by public relation and international affairs department of Isfahan Governorship, Dr. Mortazavi, Isfahan governor general, said: "Isfahan is the origin of an ancient civilization and its traces are visible in different parts of the city." Referring to the 500-year-old relations between Iran and Austria, he continued: "In these good relations, there has been no challenge and it can be a good foundation for strengthening relations in the future." The governor general of Isfahan, stating that Isfahan is a city of industry, science, tourism and handicrafts, and added: This background can be the basis for great joint works and through this, the interactions of the parties can be expanded by planning." Referring to the effective presence of the Austrian Trade Adviser in this trip, he said: "The presence of businessmen of the two countries together and using the opportunities that the other side can support, will provide the ground for the growth of the two countries and in this regard, the presence of the Austrian adviser can be effective." Mortazavi pointed to climate changes and added: "The issue of climate and environment, as it is important in different parts of the world, has a special place in Iran, especially in Isfahan, and it can be another area of scientific interaction between the two countries." Referring to the Austrian ambassador's interest in scientific cooperation in the field of medicinal plants with Isfahan, he stated: "It is possible to announce the request of Austria to Isfahan universities to prepare scientific articles and use the achievements of Iranian scientists in this field." The governor general of Isfahan added:" Isfahan is ready to hold a joint conference and to host Austrian scientists for scientific exchange between Austrian and Iranian universities in the field of medicinal plants." He said:" Urban management, industry and other fields of agriculture can be the other areas of scientific interaction and cooperation between the two countries." Isfahan Chamber of Commerce can also be a good host for economic interactions of Austrian businessmen because increasing economic exchanges through the private sector can pave the way for sustainable relations. He expressed his regret about the decline in economic exchanges in recent years and stated: "U.S.-EU policies, despite Austria's independent policies, have negative effect on these relations, therefore, the establishment of long-term public diplomacy can lead to the stabilization of Iran-Austria relations in all areas, especially economy and culture." Mortazavi stated:" The resumption of Vienna flights to Isfahan, holding Iran Tourism Week in Vienna and exhibition are other areas for joint actions." Referring to the role of Corona in reducing communications, he clarified: "This issue cannot be long-term and Isfahan can host Austrian tourist tours." Mortazavi continued:" The management of the province is ready to take basic steps for continuing trade relations and strengthening joint economic activities by establishing a Vienna desk in Isfahan." The Austrian Ambassador to Iran, Wolf Dietrich Heim, met with the governor general of Isfahan on Thursday during his first visit to Isfahan. During his one-day trip to Isfahan, he met with the Austrian goalkeeper of Sepahan Club and visited some tourist centers such as Atashgah Mountain, Shaking Minaret, Imam Square and Vank Cathedral.
