RISD stands for Rhode Island School of Design, the college that Krosoczka attended. When someone sets up shop, he or she starts a new business. When Krosoczka says he happened to be in New York, the emphasis on the word happened (in the script, it is in quotation marks) shows us that actually he didn't just happen to be there; he went there on purpose.
