IRAN - Shustar Water Mills

The city of Shushtar is famous for its water sources and fertile soil. These are the ancient water mills located in Khuzestan Province in southwest of Iran. The Shushtar hydraulic system belongs to the Sassanid era, dating back to more than 2000 years ago. In that time, the Shushtar city was considered as an island city on the Karun River.
