The busiest land crossing between the U-S and Canada remains shut as Canadian truckers continue blocking roads in protest at the governments coronavirus measures. Trucks and other vehicles have blocked the lanes causing gridlock for 2 days now. The so-called Freedom Convoy began as a movement against a vaccine requirement for cross-border truckers. The movement soon morphed into protests against public health measures and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government. On Monday, parliament held an emergency session to deal with the issue. Addressing the session, Trudeau demanded an end to the demonstrations, which have been ongoing for 12 days. Meanwhile, New Zealand witnessed a protest inspired by demonstrations in Canada, with hundreds of people blocking the road to the parliament building.
