Germany: Techmobil displays their latest Personal Protection Device
Tecmobil's Titan 500 is no normal phone, this phone could save your life. Even if you're not planning a trek into the wilderness anytime soon the Titan still has loads of useful features.
Unlike your average smartphone, this shockproof Titan won't break if it slips from your hands and it is also dust, scratch and water resistant. The phone also boasts two cameras with a flash, a torch and 3G internet access. If you are in danger, just press the SOS button which then calls or sends a message to up to five people and activates the GPS system so people can locate where you are.
Carsten Straub, head of quality Tecmobil GmbH, says: "Normal people for example want to have it for outside, for doing sports for example, if they go skiing or something like this it's better to have something like this than a normal smartphone because a normal smartphone can be damaged much easier than this one."
The phone also has a Push To Talk (PTT) button. This allows you to call up to ten people at the same time to give them a message, without having to call them individually.
For €180, the Titan is the cheapest of its kind with the largest amount of features making personal protection devices accessible to a wider market.
