This tutorial is done in the Overlay Mosaic Crochet Technique. In this tutorial I will teach you how to crochet this eye catching Mosaic Crochet design.

This pattern is worked in a MULTIPLE of 12 + 4. ROW START TIMES PROVIDED BELOW. Additional info provided below for working in the round as well.

TO REPEAT THE DESIGN FOR LARGER PROJECTS YOU WILL WORK ROWS  1 THRU 13 AND THEN WORK ROWS 2 THRU 13 AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WOULD LIKE FOR THE PROJECT YOU CHOOSE. END your project by working Row 13 as your final row.

USING FULL & HALF FLOWER TOGETHER: To work with the full flower you will join on at row 2 of the Chart 1 tutorial and work the repeat rows 2 through 13, then you can alternate back to Chart 2 and work the repeat rows 2 through 13.

HOW MUCH YARN DO I NEED? Watch this video in how to calculate your yarn, just remember you are splitting your yardage between color A and B: How much YARN is NEEDED for a PATTERN...

🪄HOOK SIZE/HOOK I USED: I am using 3.5mmsize Nelsonwood hook in this tutorial:
https://www.nelsonwood.net/store/c1/S...

I recommend using the below hook sizes depending on yarn used:
3 DK yarn : 3.5mm to 4.5mm
Size 4 Medium/worsted weight: 4.5mm to 5.5mm.
Mixing 3 & 4 weight:  3.5mm to 4.5mm
SIZE 1 Lace Weight - 2.75mm to 3mm  hook used on slouchy hat

THE YARN: I'm using size 3 yarn, any brand will work as well as any size.
Color A: Stylecraft Special DK in Mushroom ; Color B: Deramores Studio Anti-Pilling in Paprika

Note on mixing yarn sizes 3 (DK) & Size 4 (Medium Worsted weight): THE TRICK TO MIXING YARN SIZES IS JUST KEEPING YOUR TENSION EVEN AND USING THE SMALLEST SIZE HOOK RECOMMENDED FOR THE SMALLER YARN!  You can use any yarn size you like and can use yarn that is all the same size, you do not have to mix yarn sizes.

Project info and starting:
To begin your project you will chain in multiples of 12 plus 4 at the end to work a flat piece. You will skip the first chain and begin working in the second chain from the hook, ending up with an odd number of stitches. EXAMPLE: I chained 28 and had 27 stitches at the end of my first Foundation Row.

TO WORK IN THE ROUND: chain in multiples of 12 and slip stitch to the first chain. begin working the repeat in the first stitch [same stitch you slip stitches into) and follow the Repeat as given in the video.

Stitches used in this project: Back Loop Single Crochet and Front Loop Double Crochet (drop down double crochet as I like to call it).
