Is your lawn sparse? I recommend you overseed with a split / splice seeder. I used the Billy Goat model: OS900SPH lawn overseeder. If you follow my steps in my video you will be able to use any overseeder using my steps.
Just remember, calibration is key. This video is second to the power rake I did last fall. This lawn was overrun with thatch. The owner had been leaving dead grass on the lawn for years thinking they were mulching. The dead grass allowed the rye and fescue to push out the desired Kentucky bluegrass. I purchased Barenbrug Kentucky Blue Grass in an effort to push out the rye and the fescue grass.
I'm going to Overseed with a Split / Splice Seeder. Billy Goat Model: OS900SPH lawn overseeder so I get better germination. This machine will put the seed 1/8" to 1/4" under the soil. This will allow the seed to keep wet during the germination period and increase the germination rate.
