10th IFFA full programme announcement and official festival trailer launch.
Ten films, among the most successful Iranian productions of 2020 are announced in competition section of 10th Iranian Film Festival Australia. The official competition section includes; "Careless Crime" by Shahram Mokri, "TiTi" by Ida Panahandeh, "Sun Children" by Majid Majidi, "The Wasteland" by Ahmad Bahrami, "Bandar Band" by Manijeh Hekmat, "3 Puffs" by Saman Salour, "Cinema City" by Keyvan Alimohamadi and Aliakbar Heidari," Drowning in Holy Water” by Navid Mahmoudi," Yalda: A night for forgiveness” by Massoud Bakhshi, "Drown” by Mohammad Kart . The programme also includes three documentaries and five short films.
Festival director, #Armin_Miladi, said: “This year despite the COVID pandemic we have had a very strong year for Iranian cinema, enabling us to present a fantastic and diverse range of films for our audiences in Australia. We are delighted to have a focus on Iranian female directors with presenting three films this year including our opening night film ‘Titi’ by Ida Panahandeh; we pay tribute to the acclaimed director Kambuzia Partovi with the premiere of ‘The Truck (Kamion-2018)’ his final film which will close the Festival, and we also have a focus on the culture & music of the Southern Iran (next to the Persian Gulf) showcasing two documentaries, ‘Chicheka Lullaby’ and ‘Sebaloo’, and Manijeh Hekmat’s recent hit, ‘Bandar Band’ which all feature musicians from this part of Iran.”
The 10th Iranian Film Festival will be held physically from 20 May to 16 June in four capital cities of Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne & Sydney followed by ten days of online Festival (different set of films) across Australia.
