Chaharshanbe Suri, the fire jumping festival in Iran

Fire jumping festival is considered one of the favorite celebrations among the Iranians, which is deeply rooted in ancient Iranian culture. On the sunset of the last Tuesday of the Iranian Year, bushes and firewood are piled in the streets to make fires. People gather by the fire, jump over it, while singing to the fire “Give me your beautiful red color and take back my sickly pallor!”
Singing, dancing, and having fun around the fire are the most exciting rituals of this festival.
