My first video in a series of making Arabic fonts using the Glyphs app. It presents a quick introduction while focusing on Glyphs features that facilitate the making of Arabic fonts. The video has English translation which you can activate from the video controls.
In following videos I will try to cover the details that I have quickly mentioned in this recording and provide an updated version on some. While showing usable techniques in this video, there are sometimes better ways of doing them which warrant thorough presentation.
As I mention in the video, my primary aim from these tutorials is to promote Arabic font making techniques. I also stress the importance of recognizing the issue of the design factor. This is because while being able to make fonts, one has be aware of the Arabic script rules and aesthetics in order to make quality typefaces.
