Babak and Friends - A First Norooz - Chaharshanbeh Soori - English
In this clip from Babak & Friends, we see how the kids celebrate Chaharshanbeh Soori, which is the eve of Wednesday before the Persian New Year. It's a fire and light festival where people gather outside and light small bushes of fire and jump over them, singing a verse that loosely translates to "Your firey redness is mine and my yellow paleness is yours". Iranians do this so that the fire will help them symbolically get rid of the bad things in the past and bring in good light and energy for the new year.
