Iran Isfahan: Vank church - کلیسا وانک اصفهان
کلیسا وانک در محله جلفا شهر اصفهان یکی از زیباترین کلیسا ها در ایران است. پایه اولیه این کلیسا در زمان شاه عباس اول صفوی همزمان با اسکان ارامنه ساخته شد و ساختمان جدید که امروزه ما آن را به عنوان کلیسا وانک میبینیم در زمان شاه عباس دوم صفوی ساخته شده است. معماری این کلیسا تلفیقی از هنر ارمنی، ایرانی و اروپایی است که در گنبد این کلیسا به وضوح مشخص است. گنبد کلیساهای کهن ارمنی مخروطی شکل است ولی گنبد کلیسا وانک شبیه گنبدهای مساجد دوره صفوی ساخته شده با این تفاوت که یک صلیب روی گنبد قرار گرفته است. کلیسا وانک از نظرنقاشی، طلاکاری و تزیینات داخلی یکی از منحصربه فردترین کلیساهای ارامنه هست. بدون شک یکی از مکان های تاریخی و گردشگری شهر اصفهان که در سفرتون به این شهر نباید دیدن اون رو از دست بدید همین کلیسا هست.
The Holy Savior Cathedral, also known the Church of the Saintly Sisters, is one of the most beautiful churches of Iran, located in the New Julfa district of Isfahan, Iran. It is commonly referred to as the Vank Cathedral. The cathedral was established in 1606, built by the hundreds of thousands of Armenians that were forcibly resettled by Shah Abbas I in his new capital, Isfahan and the new building that we see today, is built in Shah Abbas II era. The architecture of this cathedral is a combination of European, Armenian and Iranian art which is clearly visible in its dome. Ancient Armenian churches usually have conical domes but the Vank Cathedral is more like an Iranian mosque from Safavid era, with the exception of a cross added to it. This cathedral is one of the most unique Armenian churches in terms of its paintings, fine frescos, and gilded carvings. If you come to Isfahan city, this is a very important landmark that you should certainly visit.
