Honda CBR1000 Motorcycle scared of police - Arkansas State Police force him to the curb #pursuit
Trooper's Report:
On Thursday, May 16th, 2024 at approximately 9:14 p.m., I was in the area of Interstate 430 North near the 8 mile marker. I
observed a black motorcycle traveling in the #3 traffic lane. The motorcycle then moved from the #3 lane to the exit lane to the
8 exit without using a turn signal, and without establishing a lane of travel before moving to the next lane.
I attempted to conduct and enforcement stop on the motorcycle, but the vehicle quickly moved back to the #2 traffic lane and
accelerated away from me. I activated my emergency sirens and advised Troop A Communications I would be in pursuit of the
motorcycle as we took the 8 exit onto Rodney Parham Road. As the motorcycle was taking a right turn to go East onto Rodney
Parham Road, I moved my vehicle next to the motorcycle in an attempt to stop the pursuit. The motorcycle moved around my
unit and accelerated to speeds of approximately 95 MPH.
As the pursuit approached Treasure Hill Drive, the rider began to slow and reach into his left pocket. The rider then moved into
opposite lanes of travel before attempting to turn North onto Treasure Hill Drive. I once again moved my unit next to the fleeing
motorcycle. The operator moved to the far right of Treasure Hill Drive before striking the curb at a slow speed and falling off the
motorcycle. He was then taken into custody without further incident.
The operator was identified as Mr. Adam Vaughn. When asked why he would run, he advised he was scared and had a small
amount of narcotics on his person.
In his left pocket I located two clear baggies, one with a white crystalline substance and one with a brown powdery substance.
Mr. Vaughn advised both packages were methamphetamine. Mr. Vaughn was transported to the Pulaski County Regional Jail
where he was charged with the following;
5-54-125(d)(3) 2023 - Fleeing - Vehicle or Conveyance - Substantial Danger of Death
5-64-419(b)(1)(A) - Possession of a Controlled Substance Sch II (Meth) 2g
27-16-303 - Driving on a Suspended License
27-51-104(b)(1) - Improper or Unsafe Lane Change
All contraband was entered into evidence at Troop A for further testing
