THE BEST SWEET POTATO VARIETY WE'VE EVER GROWN!
We mowed our sweet potato vines about a week ago so we could see where the rows were and also to help toughen the skins and make the sweet potatoes more durable during harvest. We planted three different varieties this year: Georgia Jet, Orleans, and Porto Rico.
The Georgia Jet variety always performs well for us and Porto Rico did well for us last year. We've never grown Orleans, so we're excited to see how well it did for us this year!
After harvesting the sweet potatoes, we need to plant a row of chocolate habanero peppers. We've had these plants in our greenhouse for a while and it's time for them to go in the ground. We'll also explain why we're planting so many of these hot peppers for the fall backyard garden.
