Nasreddin's Fin'tastic Prank
Once, a famous philosopher was traveling and happened to visit Nasruddin's village. He went to his home and after they both met, the philosopher asked him for a good place to eat in his town.
Nasruddin suggested a place. The philosopher also wanted to have a conversation with Nasruddin, so he invited him to join. Nasruddin accepted the invitation and accompanied him to the place.
When they sat there, the waiter came. The philosopher asked for that day’s special dish.
“Fresh fish”, the waiter replied.
The philosopher replied: “Bring us two”.
After a while, the waiter returned with a large plate containing two cooked fish. One fish was bigger than the other one. Nasruddin immediately took the bigger fish for himself! The philosopher was shocked and started criticizing Nasruddin's seemingly selfish behavior, believing it went against moral and ethical principles.
Patiently listening to the philosopher's reproach, Nasruddin asked, "What would you have done in my place?" The philosopher replied, :"I would have taken the smaller fish for myself."
“And here you are!” Nasruddin said placing the smaller fish on his plate.
