How to Find Equivalent Fractions for 3/9

To find three equivalent fraction for 3/9, we can multiple 3/9  by the equivalent of 1/1.  For example:

3/9    x  1/1   =   3/9
since 1/1 = 1 and multiplying by 1 does not change the value.

If we multiply:

3/9   x   2/2  =  6/18

Here again, since 2/2 = 1 we aren't changing the value, just the way it is written. Both  3/9 and 6/18 are equal to 0.3 (repeating).

We could also divide both 6 and 9 by 3 to simplify  3/9.  That would give us 1/3, another equivalent fraction.

We could also multiply by 3/3, 4/4, 5/5 and so on to find more fractions that are equal to 3/9.  As long as we are multiplying by the equivalent of 1, we'll get a fraction that is the same as  3/9.
