Do You Dream of a Self Sufficient Lifestyle? It is Possible Here in Bulgaria

We had always dreamt of a self sufficient lifestyle, to own a plot of land where  we could grow our own food.  Unfortunately,  land in England is  horrendously expensive and the most we could ever afford was a small allotment!  

Here in our rural Bulgarian village self-sufficiency is a way of life, and has been for centuries. Neighbours share plants and seeds, everyone grows grapes to make their own wine, and most people own livestock. There is also lots of local wisdom on offer.  Best of all – land is very affordable here.

Indulge in home cooked traditional food and wines in rustic surroundings.  delight in the colourful  customs  and celebrations that are still alive here.   Maybe rediscover ‘old’skills like wine making, canning, Animal husbandry, or just how to cook a traditional dish on the log-fueled ‘petchka’.
