The first sophisticated domestically-produced ferry passenger and tourist ship, with the capacity of 220 passengers, joined the naval fleet late on Saturday in the presence of Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari سورنا ستاري and managing director of Kish Free Zone.
This tourism vessel called “Tamaran Top Tours” (Factory name: Zar catamaran كاتاماران زر) was manufactured by expert domestic engineers which is unique of its kind as the most modern and advanced ferry vessel in the country.
‘Tarman Top Tours’ which has international certificate is also capable to carry 220 passengers, 80 metric Tons of goods and 10 cars.
On the sidelines of the launching ceremony of this passenger ship, Managing Director of Arvandan Company شركت اروندان Ghorbani said that the ship was supposed to be made by foreign companies but due to their delay, Iranian experts manufactured it.
He pointed out that the ship is now giving quality services to passengers in Kish كيش, Hendurabi هندورابي and Charak چارك Islands.
For his part, Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari pointed to strengthening tourism infrastructures and supporting private sector as the main policies of the government and said, “the government will throw its heavyweight behind implementation of such projects wholeheartedly.”

A Catamaran class ferry (ZAR) that was built by ARVANDAN shipbuilding co for exporting to other country in 2018. It is designed to conduct the high speed traditional passenger and vehicle transportation as well as other maritime operations.
ARMANIK was responsible for the engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the whole HVAC systems' as follows:
- Passenger room
- VIP passenger room
- Accommodation & crew room
- Bridge area
- Bridge rest room
Challenges:
- Technical challenges (among other contractors)
- Shock, vibration and EMC requirements
- Vulnerability requirements for certain systems
- Space constraints for the routing & handling and transporting of electrical panel, compressors, fans, ducts and pipes
- Sound level restrictions
- Fresh air supply
- Incompatibility of new equipment and control system with some existing equipment
- Time schedule limit
