The Direct-From-Bulk Bag Unloader with an STINGER® conveyor is the best solution for handling the material freely without clogging material that has a low bulk density and a very fine particle size.
The DFB with a STINGER® can move the material freely without clogging. The conveyor uses a small amount of compressed air for handling fume silica. Compressed air usage is approximately 2 to 5 CFM and 2 ½ psig pressure.
There are several major advantages to the direct from a bulk bag unloader. This unit is totally portable which allows an operator to relocate the unloader to different parts of the plant. The direct from bag unloader needs it less headroom because of the design of the bulk bag support bracket.
The STINGER® conveyor can convey the fume silica material horizontally and vertically more than 40 feet. The typical set up for conveying this material is to include approximately 10 foot of Stinger conveyor with a hose adapter at the end. A flexible hose is attached to the hose adapter, and the material will continually convey to the hose to the use point.
When a scale system is included with the DFB unloader, the material can be weighed out of the bulk bag into the process tank.
