The Bible only records the death of two apostles: Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus and hanged himself, and James, the son of Zebedee, who was executed by Herod. But what about the other ten? Where did they go and how did they meet their end?
We will look at some historical sources and traditions that tell us about the fate of the apostles. We will learn that most of them suffered martyrdom for their faith in various places around the world, such as Parthia, Scythia, Asia, Pontus, Galatia, Bithynia, Cappadocia, Rome, India, Persia, Ethiopia, and Armenia. We will also see that John was the only apostle who died of old age, after living in Ephesus and writing his gospel and epistles.
