What is the Southern Cone and who are the people of this region? The Southern Cone is a unique region of Latin America which includes Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and parts of Southern Brazil including Parana, Santa Catarina, Sao Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul. It is distinct from most other areas of South and Latin America due to it's high degree of European and Western influence with considerable migration from the Middle East, East Asia and other areas of the planet as well. Although they are Latin Americans, their culture has been inordinately impacted by German, Italian, French, Japanese, Lebanese and other immigrants in the past couple centuries making them stand out as one of the most interesting places in the Americas.
