Side by Side: Manhunter and Red Dragon
We've put the same scene from two different movies side by side to compare and contrast them. The scene depicts the first time that Will Graham goes to ask for help from Hannibal Lecktor / Hannibal Lecter. William Peterson and Edward Norton play Graham in each of their movies, while Brian Cox and Anthony Hopkins play Hannibal in theirs.
On the top is Michael Mann's Manhunter (1986) and on the bottom is Brett Ratner's Red Dragon (2002). Both are based on the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, but despite the very similar dialogue, the two scenes are adapted very differently.
