Yangon, Myanmar - Words cannot begin to describe the colonial charm that defines the historic city of Yangon. With so many sights to see and so many temples to visit, it may be difficult to keep track of what to see, where to see it, and how to see it. In this video, I take you around Yangon and show you the best things that you have to see here in Myanmar.

1. Fresh Market- The fresh market on 26th street is the classic beginning stop here in Yangon. No tour can begin without a quick visit to see where locals do their early morning shopping!

2. Maha Bandula Park - A small park right in the center of Yangon, Maha Bandula is a very important historic park that is surrounded by colonial buildings, such as the High Court of Yangon. It used to be the home of Queen Victoria's statue in Yangon but now is replaced by a memorial for the Burmese.

3. Sule Pagoda - One of the must-see pagodas in Yangon, this structure is right across from Maha Bandula Park and is one of the most accessible pagodas in the entire city!

4. Bogyoke Aung San Market - If you want to buy quick souvenir or spend time seeing the jade pieces that Myanmar has to offer, then this is the stop that you have to visit. Most tour groups will come here to see the jade and wooden carvings, but escape into the other narrow alleyways and you get a real feel of local life.

5. Shwedagon Pagoda - The most FAMOUS pagoda in all of Yangon. This is a must-see. It is a symbol of Yangon and the national icon of Myanmar. Missing this would be a tragedy!

6. U Thant's House - A relatively unknown little spot is the home of the former UN Secretary General U Thant. Preserved in a relatively well-kept state, this home is a must-visit for all those history fans out there.

7. Kandawggyi Lake -The famous home of the floating birds, this lake is a bit outside downtown Yangon but a beautiful place to catch the sunset.

8. Chinatown - This is the most hectic part of Yangon once night falls. The street is filled with stalls selling barbecue and locals roam about, drinking beer and eating grilled meats. The atmosphere here is second to none!
