Digital Betacam SDI Transfer Test
This is a test to see how Digital Betacam SDI transfers look. The device used is a Blackmagic Ultrastudio Recorder 3G. Workflow is below:
-Transferred with Sony J-30SDI via SDI
-Captured with Blackmagic Media Express (525i59.94, Uncompressed 10bit YUV, Quicktime file)
-De-interlaced with FFMPEG
-Edited with Premiere Pro 2023 (macOS)
-Exported as H.264 file at 20 Mbit/s (for YT only).
For Line 21 Closed Captions:
-Secondary transfer with Sony J-30SDI via composite
-Captured to DVD Recorder (480i29.97 with superimposed timecode for sync purposes)
-Dubbed to DVD-RW and imported into Windows
-Captions exported with CCExtractor
-VOB file converted to MP4 and de-interlaced, all with FFMPEG
-New MP4 and SRT files imported into Premiere Pro 2023 (macOS)
-Synchronization of files and CC using superimposed timecode on composite capture
