In this design, we have deep pink rose and red pyracanthas in a big tall vase.

A.  @Lotus Flower Arrangement, we do not use “floral foam”.   Instead, we use  natural wooden branches, bamboo branches, twigs, and leaves from the plants themselves as the bases for the flowers to stand and to support.  This is challenging.   However, it is the most important and interest part of the whole design.   Moving forward “kenzan”  is our next choice to use on  Ikebana flowers.

B.  In terms of color matching and contrasting:  Example in good matching,  lighter purple are easily matched with darker purple.   In contrast, the most greenest plants and leaves are good contrast with flowers of all colors.
