(5 Mar 2016) Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Saturday called for cooperation between Iran and Turkey in putting an end to "conflicts and bloody fratricides"  in the region.
Davutoglu was speaking during a news conference in Tehran after being welcomed by Iranian Vice-President Eshagh Jahangiri.
Davutoglu is on an official two-day visit to Iran.
Tehran and Ankara have major differences about how to deal with the Syrian conflict.
Jahangiri underlined that although Iran and Turkey have disagreed over handling the crisis, both sides are determined to move toward stability.
Turkey supports anti-Syrian president rebels and says Bashar Assad must step down from power whereas Iran believes only the Syrian people must determine their fate and objects to any foreign intervention.
Along with Russia, Iran is a key ally of Syrian President Bashar Assad and has provided his government with military and political backing for years while Turkey backs armed rebels seeking to topple Assad.
