COHESION OF STAMENS:Fusion of stamens among one another is called COHESION OF STAMENS: It is of following types. 1. Adelphy, 2. Syngenesious and 3. Synandry. ADELPHY: In the androecium, anthers are free, filaments are fused and form into bundles is called adelphy. Based on the number of bundles, it is of following types: MONOADELPHOUS: The filaments of all the stamens are united to form only one  bundle. Example: Hibiscus. DIADELPHOUS: The filaments of the stamens fused and form into two bundles.  Example: Dolichos. In Dolichos, 10 stamens are present, filaments of 9 stamens are fused and form into one bundle and 10th stamen remains free act as a second bundle. ADHESION OF STAMENS: Fusion of stamens with other floral parts like calyx, corolla, gynoecium is called adhesion of stamens. It is of four types. 1. Episepalous, 2. Epipetalous, 3. Epiphyllous and 4. Gynostegium. EPISEPALOUS: Stamens are attached to sepals. Example: Grevillea silver oak. EPIPETALOUS: Stamens are attached to petals. It is commonly seen in the gamopetalous flowers. Example: Datura.
