Ferdowsi Avenue is a major thoroughfare in Tehran and it used to be called Ala’odoleh Avenue in the Qajar period. It runs from Toopkhane in the south and after passing through the Istanbul intersection it ends in Ferdowsi Square in the north.

Embassies of Germany, Great Britain, Turkey, the buildings of National Bank of Iran & Bank Sepah, and several museums including the National Jewels Museum & Bank Sepah’s Coin Museum are all located on this avenue. The first Department Store in Iran – the popular Ferdowsi Store – was also on this avenue.

Ferdowsi Street formerly Alaodowleh Street is a street located in Tehran. It is named after Ferdowsi and is the center of Tehran’s currency exchange trade.
