Ardeshir Babkan Palace or Ardeshir Popkan Palace, which is also known as Ardeshir Fire Pit, is a castle located near Firuzabad, Fars province, on a mountainside near Dokhtar Castle, and it was built in 224 AD by the order of Ardeshir Babkan, the founder of the Sassanid Empire. . This castle is located two kilometers north of the ancient city of Gore. The ancient city where the palace is located was renamed to "Peruz" (Victorious) after Ardashir founded the Sassanid Empire by overthrowing Ordavan, the last Ashkan king. After the Arab attack on Iran, the victorious Arabs named Firuz and this name remained. Therefore, the current city of Firuzabad is of great importance in the history of Iranکاخ اردشیر بابکان یا کاخ اردشیر پاپکان که به آتشکدهٔ اردشیر نیز معروف است، قلعه‌ای است که در نزدیکی فیروزآباد استان فارس، در دامنهٔ کوهی در نزدیکی قلعه دختر واقع شده و در سال ۲۲۴ پس از میلاد به دستور اردشیر بابکان بنیان‌گذار شاهنشاهی ساسانی ساخته شده است. این قلعه در دو کیلومتری شمال شهر باستانی گور قرار دارد. شهر باستانی که کاخ در آن قرار دارد، پس از این‌که اردشیر با سرنگونی اردوان، آخرین پادشاه اشکانی، شاهنشاهی ساسانی را تأسیس کرد، به «پروز» (پیروز) تغییر نام داد. پس از حملهٔ اعراب به ایران، اعراب پیروز را فیروز نامیدند و این نام، باقی ماند. شهر کنونی فیروزآباد از این رو در تاریخ ایران از اهمیت بالایی برخوردار است.
