Avid Mbox Pro 3 gen workaround for MacOS Catalina
There is no official driver for Catalina and above. This is a workaround.
Update from Mojave to Catalina. The Mbox Pro.app (Control Panel) doesn't work. The rest is fine.
For a brief time, the interface stopped working and stood idle. The blue led power was on (not blinking) but all other LEDs were off. I tried restarting many times but didn't work.
Then I switched to windows 10 on boot camp, installed the drivers, made it work there and came back to MacOS Catalina. Now it works fine again as you can see on the video.
It might work coping the Mbox files from Mojave to the same location on a fresh Catalina install. I'll try that later.
TL;DR
1- This doesn't work on a fresh install of Catalina.
2- Install Mojave and Mbox Pro 3 drivers
3- Update from Mojave to Catalina
4- It should be working without the control app. If it doesn't work (or stopped working after a while), boot up a Windows (Boot Camp) with Mbox Pro 3 drivers. As soon as the interface starts working again on Windows, reset to MacOS.
It might work copying the Mojave driver files to the same directory on a fresh install of Catalina. But I'm not willing buy a U$ 50 Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter to test that on my MBP.
