"Duplication" (Insane Demon) by Zeptoz, Xender Game, Knots & more | Geometry Dash 2.11
I was asked to showcase this on the channel recently, and it's definitely good enough for that. "Duplication" is a very cool and colorful megacollab hosted by Zeptoz. The main draw of the level is definitely the color scheme to me, which is reminiscent of recent megacollabs like Quaoar and TORNADO in how it uses rainbow colors. This does make the level stand out a little less unfortunately, but it doesn't change how good the level is. It was started a while ago too, so I'm sure they didn't mean to use the same color scheme; it was probably just unfortunate timing.
Aside from the color scheme, there are a lot of cool visuals in this. The block designs are very good, and the effects in both the background and foreground are neat. My favorite part, which exemplifies what I just said perfectly, has to be SrKiwi11's at 0:14. I think a lot of people agree with this part being the best. The block design has really cool perspective, featuring some great details, and the background is good too. This part being so early on does set the bar pretty high, which is a bit unfortunate for the rest of the level. I have to admit that none of the later parts live up to it, but that's not to say they aren't good; they're just not as good. Another thing to note is the transitions. A lot of megacollabs just flash a black screen and toggle each part for transitions, but this has some nice effects synchronized to the song for some of them. I'd love if they put even more effort into all of them as the end result is smoother visually. There are still some toggles here and there, which may affect the gameplay experience somewhat.
In terms of gameplay, this is quite fast-paced as a result of being synchronized to its hype song. It isn't on Newgrounds, but the available replacement song fits well too. Unfortunately, it seems like the gameplay has some issues judging by what victors on YouTube have said thus far. However, there haven't been too many victors just yet. It's currently rated Insane Demon, so that gives you a good idea of the difficulty if you'd like to give it a shot and see for yourself. Special thanks to Surv for providing the footage too. All in all, this is a cool level that has some issues, but I still think it deserves the Epic rating it received.
