Sony Mobile ES Car Speakers Review
Have you heard the Sony Mobile ES car audio products yet??? Before the end of 2023, our shop signed up to be a Sony Mobile ES dealer! Over New Years Eve, John and I, ever the romantics, decided to spend the day working on the board in our showroom where we installed the Sony Mobile ES XAV-9500ES head unit, XM-4ES amplifier plus the XS-162ES 6.5" component speakers and XS-160ES 6.5" coaxial speakers.
We are both super impressed with the entire Sony Mobile ES car audio line up. The Sony XS-162ES component speakers pack an impressive level of detail and performance at a price that is hard to beat. The level of engineering and design Sony employed in the development of their Mobile ES car audio speakers is well beyond what we see in some higher end niche speaker manufacturers that often cost twice as much.
Hearing the Sony XS-162ES powered by the XM-4ES off their XAV-9500ES head unit was a true listening experience. The Sony Mobile ES car speakers delivered a level of detail, separation and nuance that I haven't heard in years. Listening to Daft Punk's Motherboard, I felt like I was hearing the song for the 1st time. The electronic chortling that I always heard as a subtle effect in the background in my own vehicle was suddenly clearly present, if not in my face. WOW - where did that come from? Is that how this song was always meant to be heard??? It was so pronounced, so different than how I heard it on so many other speakers, head units and amplifiers.
