In world of green screens and CGI, you might assume that filming epic fantasy movies is a walk in the park for the actors. They just show up, say their lines, and let the post-production team take it from there. But that’s not always the case. In fact, for the main actors from the Harry Potter series, there were a ton of grueling shoot days that were physically and emotionally draining for them. And they were only little kids then! If you’re curious about what some of these rigorous shoot days looked like, then you’re in the right place.

In this video, we’re taking a look at a couple of the more torturous shoot days on the Harry Potter set. In particular, there were a couple of sequences involving water (sometimes freezing cold!) that proved incredibly tough for the actors to deal with. And yes, they were getting paid a lot, and it made them famous. But that doesn’t mean they didn’t have to deal with the realities of filming the adventurous wizarding world of Harry Potter. We talk about the painful process of filming the famous Quidditch scenes, as well as one particular day when Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint had to deal with a particularly brutal shot sequence. Not to oversell it, but one of them literally thought their heart had stopped beating. And we’ll talk about a couple of the infamous underwater sequences that Daniel Radcliffe had to get through, including the insane amount of training he had to do.

So for a glimpse into the less-glamorous side of the Harry Potter movies, check out this video today!
