Dr. Rania Awaad is a practicing Psychiatrist based at the Stanford University School of Medicine. She is a Clinical Instructor in the Stanford Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and pursues her clinical practice through the department’s community psychiatric track. She is passionate about mental health and works he is passionate about mental health and works extensively, locally, nationally, and inter-nationally creating a spiritual wellness with the application of traditional Islamic spiritual healing methods to modern clinical psychology. Prior to studying medicine, Dr. Awaad pursued classical Islamic Studies in Damascus, Syria and holds certification (Ijaza) in Qur’an, Islamic Law and other branches of the Islamic Sciences. She is a Professor of Islamic Law at Zaytuna College, an American Muslim Liberal Art College in Berkeley, CA. In addition, she serves as the Director of The Rahmah Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating Muslim women and girls. Imam Siraj Wahhaj is a globally recognized Islamic leader who graduated from the Umm Al-Qura University of Makkah in 1978. Imam Wahhaj has served on Majlis Ash-Shura since 1987 and was the former vice president of the Islamic Society of North America. He is a past member of ISNA’s Planning Committee and has served as a member of the Board of Advisors for NAIT from 1989 to 1993. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the American Muslim Council. Imam Wahhaj has appeared on several national television talk shows and interviews especially about his anti-drug campaigns. He received high praises from the media and NYPD for initiating anti-drug patrol in Brooklyn, New York in 1988. Imam Wahhaj was the first person to give an Islamic invocation to the United States Congress. His messages are rooted in hope, faith, and the power of redemption.
