How to Make Pemmican - the Ultimate DIY High Energy Camping Food, traditional food of the Voyageurs & Currier Du Bois. No Refrigeration Required: Preppers, Homesteaders, Preserves, Wild Game, dehydrated food, bug out, off-grid food. A staple food of the fur trade, Canada's Métis Nation of Southern Manitoba supplied the Northwest Company with enormous amounts of this energy and nutrient rich food each season. It provided food for the Voyageurs. It can be eaten as is or added to other meals such as stew or a "rubaroo", a traditional dish of the currier du bois. This is still an excellent thing to bring along on your off-grid, outdoor adventures of present day as it offers an exceptional amount of calories compared to it's minimal size and weight, and also because it lasts for months without refrigeration. It's also a very Keto Diet friendly food.
