Iran IRGC Navy receives Ashoura & Zolfaqar Speedboats قايق تندرو ذوالفقار عاشورا دريايي سپاه ايران

Iran’s Ministry of Defense on Thursday delivered a large number of home-made speedboats and other watercraft to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy.
In a ceremony held in Bandar Abbas بندرعباس port in southern Iran this morning, the IRGC naval forces received dozens of Ashura عاشورا and Zolfaqar ذوالفقار speedboats as well as rescue boats.
Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan وزير دفاع سرتيپ حسين دهقان and IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi فرمانده نيروي دريايي سپاه دريادار فدوي were present at the ceremony.
In an address, General Dehqan underlined the need for boosting the combat and defense capabilities of Iranian Armed Forces, saying that development of Iran’s Navy power is aimed at establishing and maintaining peace, security and stability in the region.
He said that Iran’s military doctrine has been shaped based on deterrence, adding that, therefore, the Islamic Republic’s military might poses no threat to any country and only aggressors should be scared of it.
Noting that the speedboats and other vessels delivered to the IRGC Navy have been designed and made by the Marine Industries Organization of the Defense Ministry, General Dehqan praised the organization’s creativity, innovation and dynamism and highlighted its role in boosting the naval combat capabilities of the Armed Forces.
