We start our walk through the old town of Nuremberg at the Imperial Castle of Nuremberg. As the symbol of Nuremberg, the “Kaiserburg” is the highlight of all sights on every city trip to the Franconian metropolitan region. After climbing the Sinwell Tower, a breathtaking view over the rooftops of Nuremberg awaits you.
After visiting one of the most important castles in Germany, continue down Burgstraße to St. Sebaldus Church. The medieval church of St. Sebald in Nuremberg is the oldest parish church in the town and attracts everyone's attention with its two towers and lush decorations. Enter the church and discover, in addition to works by Veit Stoss, Adam Kraft, and Albrecht Dürer, the most famous work of art in the St. Sebaldus Church: the Sebaldus grave.
Weißgerbergasse is a few meters from the church. While strolling through the street we see densely packed half-timbered houses and feel transported to another time by the listed buildings from the Middle Ages.
Our stroll through Nuremberg's old town ends at the Weinstadel. The Weinstadel is one of the most famous architectural monuments in Nuremberg. The medieval building was used as an imperial city wine warehouse around 1571 and today, with its imposing architectural style and mighty saddle roof, attracts many tourists on their day trip to Franconia.
