Here Dr. Alyssa Kuhn, physical therapist with Keep the Adventure Alive discusses tips to keep in mind to improve your cycling experience including warming up and cooling down as well as movements to help avoid joint stiffness afterwards. Cycling whether it is on a stationary, road bike, mountain bike, or a cruiser can really help with knee endurance, strength, and power- all which are needed to combat knee arthritis pain. As always she recommends variety in your training but cycling can be something you can add, especially if you are having a hard time finding exercise that does not flare up your joint pain.
