Simon was in a horrific head on road traffic collision on the road which left him fighting for his life. Specialist Paramedics Pete and Jack and Dr Lou were called to assist what Pete called “One of the most broken people I've ever seen”. Simon’s devastating traumatic injuries meant our crew needed to perform almost every intervention in their arsenal, including procedures not available to land ambulance crews, such as blood transfusions, a surgical procedure know as a thoracostomy and the use of anaesthetic.

Thanks to your generosity our crew not only save lives, they also improve patient outcomes. Even when a patient is too critically sick or injured, the treatment we provide can be enough to get that patient to hospital which enables their family to share their final moments.

Great Western Air Ambulance Charity can only do their work thanks to the generosity of people like you. Each mission costs on average over £2,000, we get mobilised more than five times a day and we need to raise over £4 million each year.
