We all know that this is the season that we welcome many beautifully colored, shaped, and flavored summery fruits. One that we have focused on today is the Sour Cherry fruit. Once pitted, brought to a nice boil, and spread in between rice, it proves to you that other than the fruit basket, sour cherry can be the main role in a flavorful rice mixture too. We call it “Sour Cherry Rice w/Meatballs” also known as Albaloo-Polo. Some like it to taste sweet, some like it to taste sour, we like it to be somewhere in the middle where it tastes just right..
Now imagine one layer of the perfectly boiled long grains of white rice, one layer of bright colored simmered sour cherries, one layer of flavorful meatballs, topped with a layer of white rice mixed in with the red-ish pink-ish purple-ish sour cherry juice..now repeat..
Oh it speaks to you, trust me..
