After Iranian revolution in 1978, Taj central palace, had been captured and liquidated by (komiyete markazi), but some of the team players such as Saeed Maraghe Chian, Hadi Naraghi, Asghar Hajiloo, Manouchehr Motiee, Hojat Khaksar Tehrani, Reza Na'lachgar, Parviz Mazloomi and etc, with Enayato'allah Atashi's leads, convened together and established a new club.
After a consultation between some of the old players of this team ( Ali Jabari, Mansour Pourheydari, Kordnouri, Enayat Atashi and Jalali), the name of the club changed from Taj to Esteghlal.
