We are proud to announce that our multi-layered safety features have exceeded industry standards and set new benchmarks in safety!
According to independent European research organization, TNO, SolarEdge's Sense Connect technology and SafeDCTM advanced safety feature, have passed validation tests with exceptional results.
Sense Connect technology, integrated within the S-Series range of smart Power Optimizers was introduced in 2022. It detects temperature increase at the connector level to prevent potential electric arcs from occurring, making it an industry-first technology.
SafeDCTM technology automatically reduces the DC voltage to touch-safe levels of 1 volt during potential grid failures or inverter shut down, enabling quick intervention in case of emergency.
The validation test was performed in TNO's "Solar Laboratory" in Petten, Netherlands, where SolarEdge Sense Connect technology perfectly detected overheated connectors and shut down the power flow to the inverter, preventing the occurrence of an arc flash.
The UL1699B compliant AFCI was also validated to demonstrate SolarEdge's multi-layered approach to safety.
