Kale Nichols describes Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5's mission, embarked aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), the Philippine Sea on Oct. 31, 2019, Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group (RRNCSG), the U.S. Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier strike group, conducts routine operations as part of its 2021 deployment, the Indian Ocean on June 25, 2021, and USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) conducts routine operations. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, as well as the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region
