Hi! Today we’re going to be making an Indian classic, Butter Chicken!

Although it has a lot of ingredients and may seem daunting at first, it’s really easy to make!

To make this dish you will need;

800g Boneless and Skinless Chicken Thighs or Breasts  
400 g Tomatoes Purée
2 Tbsp Ghee  
100g of Butter  
1/2 cup Plain Yogurt  
4 Cloves of Garlic  
2 Tbsp Minced Ginger      
2-½ tsp Garam Masala  
2-½ tsp Ground Cumin  
1 tsp Turmeric  
2 tsp Red Chili Powder  
4 Cloves  
2-4 Cardamom pods  
1 Tbsp Ground Coriander  
2 tsp Salt  
2 Tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 cup of heavy or thickened cream


800 گرم سینه یا ران مرغ بدون استخوان
400 گرم گوجه فرنگی له شده
2 قاشق غذاخوری روغن حیوانی  
100 گرم کره
½  پیمانه ماست ساده
4 حبه سیر  
2 قاشق غذاخوری زنجبیل رنده شده
2-½  قاشق چایخوری پودر گرم ماسلا
2-½  قاشق چایخوری پودر زیره
1 قاشق چای خوری زردچوبه
2 قاشق چایخوری فلفل قرمز
4 عدد میخک
4-2 دانه هل
1 قاشق غذاخوری گشنیز خرد شده
2 قاشق چایخوری نمک
4  قاشق غذاخوری آب لیموترش
½  پیمانه خامه

First, we need to marinate the chicken.

Add 2 cloves of garlic (crushed), salt, half of your chili powder, lemon juice, and ginger to your chicken and mix well.

Cover the top of your bowl and let it cool in the fridge for about half an hour.
To make the marinade, mix together the yogurt, turmeric,  ground cumin  , and half a teaspoon of garam masala.

Mix this mixture into the chicken.
Let the chicken marinate for at least 3-4 hours. You can also leave it overnight.

Melt your butter in a pot and then add in the chicken.  
While the chicken cooks, we’ll make the sauce.
Add the ghee oil into a pot and melt it.  
Add in the minced garlic.
Add the ginger.

Once it sautés a bit, add the chili powder, clove, turmeric, and garam masala. Mix well.

Let it simmer on the heat for about 2 minutes and then add the coriander and lemon juice.
Add in the cardamom.

Once it’s mixed well, add your tomato puree.
Let it simmer on low heat while your chicken cooks.  
Add the sauce into the chicken.
Pour in your cream, give it a mix to combine the ingredients.
Put on the pot lid and let it fully cook on low heat.
