Shangela, a well-known drag queen and actor from RuPaul's Drag Race and We're Here, faces multiple sexual assault allegations. Rolling Stone reports four individuals claim Shangela, also known as Darius Jeremy Pierce, sexually assaulted them or tried to assault them while they were intoxicated. Another alleges an attempted assault in a bathroom closet. Pierce has denied all allegations, while he is also facing a civil lawsuit for allegedly raping a production assistant on We're Here. Some of the accusations are from young queer individuals seeking support and mentorship within the drag community. Pierce's lawyer, Andrew Brettler, has dismissed the claims saying they lack reliable evidence.
