The Central Market in the
The Central Market in the city of Athens, Greece is a meat and seafood lovers paradise. Ahead of the important Orthodox and Christian religious holiday of Easter the market is full of local Greeks selecting their freshly butchered meats and seafood in preparation for their family feasts.
But elsewhere in the capital city a silent protest is taking place against the abuse, cruelty and mass killing of animals. Numerous protestors hold signs and hand out flyers urging an end to the barbaric practices occurring inside the market — and others like it. Many of the objectors are vegan and are calling on others worldwide to stop the consumption of meat.
This video aims to illustrate both sides of this important issue without pushing any agenda either way. Some images of slaughtered animals are graphic in nature. Viewer discretion is advised. #meatmarket #athens #greece #vegan
