Transcript:

At 2 pounds and 14 inches long, about the size of a spaghetti squash, your little one is having an eye-opening week. Literally. The eyelids have been fused shut for the past few months, so the retina, the part of the eye that allows images to come into focus, could develop. But at around week 26, your baby's precious peepers begin to open.

Wondering if you'll be gazing into baby blues, or greens, or browns? The colored part of the eye, the iris, doesn't have much pigmentation yet. So it's way too early to start guessing your baby's eye color. Still, those eyes are now able to see, a huge development. Sure, there's not much to look at within the dark confines of the womb. But you may notice an increase in activity when baby perceives a bright light. Shine a flashlight on your belly and let the acrobatics begin.

Speaking of your belly, pregnant bellies become itchy bellies. That's because as the bump grows, the skin stretches rapidly and gets super dry. Relieve that itch by massaging often with a soothing cream or lotion. Your bump will thank you.
